Claire Stowers, Bespoke Cutter & Production Cutter

Claire brings over 16 years Savile Row training and experience in making and cutting, to the classroom. After completing a degree in costume design and making, Claire proceeded to pursue a career in bespoke tailoring and was offered an apprenticeship with Maurice Sedwell, Savile Row. Claire worked alongside Andrew Ramroop for 3 years and was taught the art of making bespoke trousers and waistcoats. During her three-year tenure Claire was fortunate to attend Andrew’s fittings with clients, where she realised her passion for cutting. Claire was then offered an undercutters position with Stowers Bespoke, working with Brian Jeffery, also mentored by Brian Pusey and Peter Moore. Claire felt hugely fortunate to have had access to such a wealth of knowledge in one workshop. After Brian Jeffery retired, Claire took over as a cutter at Stowers Bespoke, working there for 13 years, until she welcomed her second child and decided to become a freelance cutter. We are very proud to have Claire join us at The LAB and share her knowledge and passion in cutting.
